About us and how we write our guides

The Nursery Advice Hub helps parents in the UK make sense of nursery: what it costs, what help is available, how to choose a good setting and what to expect once your child starts.

How we check our facts

• Every guide is based on official sources, including GOV.UK, the Department for Education's EYFS framework, Ofsted, the NHS and UKHSA.
• We link to those sources at the end of each guide so you can check the detail yourself.
• We review guides at least every six months, and sooner when funding rules or guidance change.
• Each guide shows the date it was last reviewed.

Independence

We don't accept payment from nurseries or childcare providers to feature, rank or recommend them.

What our guides are not

Our guides are general information, mostly for families in England. They are not financial, legal or medical advice. If your child is unwell, speak to your GP or call NHS 111.
